How To Start A Website,
Time, What Will Work For You And Your Website?.
Every Website owner has this nagging doubt in the back of their mind that maybe their missing something?.
Missing what exactly?
Many of us that own Websites wonder if we have done all we can to promote that site and get more visitors?, Getting visitors, who are the lifeblood of most sites takes time, so we should use that time wisely.
You should look at the time you spend at your computer and put a value to it, this will then make you realize that your time is valuable and should not be wasted, a lot of people will click away at Traffic Exchanges for their visitors(this being one way of getting visitors for no cost) , but this is not a good way of using our time.
The difficulty with Traffic Exchange visitors, is converting them into potential customers for your site.
The content on your site must attract these ‘clickers’ away from what they are doing, not easily done.
The conversion rate is very low on Traffic Exchanges and even if you buy ‘Credits’ (views), and get more visitors you will still find it difficult to do much business. Also thinking you can earn anything from Traffic Exchanges quickly is wrong, remember that these sites are set up to build your ‘LIST’ and should be treated this way, and again this takes time.
Even using multiply Traffic Exchange accounts to generate more visitors or a longer List, will still leave you with the problem that these ‘clickers’ are not interested in your site and what you have to offer.
You can spend hours and hours of your time at Traffic Exchanges for little or no reward, at first you might find it fun to surf away and collect your ‘credits’, but very soon it will get monotonous and you could find yourself clicking away just to keep yourself in credits and visitors, so how could we spend our time and get better results?.
I have certainly found one of the best ways of using my time properly is to set myself ‘Goals’ (PLAN) to achieve at the end of each day, if you start out using the money route i.e. $’s per hour, you can very quickly find this depressing due to the time it takes to set everything up and start earning an Income, you will find a big minus total before you start selling anything.
Allowing yourself time to get everything set up and running the way you want is essential for your peace of mind, never give yourself a task that HAS to be completed by a given deadline, because if by any chance you have not finished the task you automatically think your behind, and then problems can easily build up.
Having a Plan (GOALS) to work to is one of the best methods you can have to utilize your time, also get in the right frame of mind, be positive, it will show in your work and create a feel-good factor about your site.
The more you get nearer to having everything set up on your website, the more you must then look at the amount of time you spend promoting that website for the right results.
Only after you have implemented and optimized your website as a finished ‘Article’ should you then start using $’s per hour as a guideline to valuing your time.
Here is where you should start to value your time per hour, a simple $10.00′s an hour is a good starting value, and by giving your time a value now, you will be able to value what is effective and what isn’t.
For Example:-
9.00-10.00am, Wrote a blog about my website/content.
10.00-11.00am, Submit blog to various outlets.
11.00-12.00pm, Catch up with Face-book, Twitter, My-space etc.
12.00-02.00pm, LUNCH and get away from the computer!!!
02.00-03.00pm, Go through your E-Mails and checkout contacts.
03.00-04.00pm, Check your Analytics and correct your Website if necessary.
04.00pm, STOP, and do something else.
Tea and Coffee breaks whenever you feel like it!!
The above should be a typical day and you will be surprised how long these simple things take if you do them properly, you can change the tasks around i.e. start at 09.00am with Analytics, it’s up to you.
By completing the above tasks properly your website will get visitors.
Put in more time if need be, but not so much as to make it a burden, It is much better to be fresh and alert at 09.00am than wishing you were doing something else.
Remember that the Computer should be doing a lot of the work, If you find yourself doing all the work then you have missed something along the way.
